Seriously but like if DH isn't Df anymore, why does he still have his bracer or remembers Dfs memories and how does a molten rebirth work? Like, isn't it just de-aging (please don't be rude to me, this is a serious question and I want to know)
I’m sorry it’s taken so long for me to respond to this, I haven’t been keeping up with my retro heavily recently, and I’m also sorry that you feel the need to ask not to be rude bc that shouldn’t even have to be asked and it makes me sad that ppl have to feel afraid of asking these kinds of questions, but I did want to make sure to answer this if you even still wanted a response. I also think the specifics of whether DH is/isn’t DF on a technical sense is not really the point of his character, but I’ll get to that
So DF/DH’s situation is more than just a simple de-aging bc there are a lot of physical changes between the two (voice, height, hair color, horn color and shape, potentially dominant hand). From a psychological perspective, though, de-aging would also result in a different person, because while biology is a determinant in the person someone grows into, the environment they live in is also a huge factor. It’s the basis for the concept of “nature vs nurture”, or the question of whether biology or environment is more influential on someone’s development (as of now, the general consensus is that both have an effect; the question of which is more so is still up for debate to this day).
The literal differences between hatching and molting rebirth haven’t been explained in-game afaik, so feel free to take my response with a grain of salt. To me, a molting rebirth is likely one that happens due to unnatural circumstances, as hatching rebirth comes with signs of its impending arrival. DF, as I see it, wasn’t at the end of his lifespan once the sedition hit, but rather was heavily injured due to the conditions of his imprisonment, causing the rebirth to be something forced due to circumstance rather than a natural occurrence.
The reason why DH has DF’s memories is directly because of Perceptor interference. It gets mentioned a few times that the Preceptors basically tampered with the rebirth process in the hopes of maintaining DF’s power in secret, but it didn’t work exactly the way they wanted.
DH still has DF’s bracer and other belongings likely due to the fact that he was a prisoner who underwent his rebirth in prison, thus likely receiving DF’s items before his exile. If you look at his reaction to Cloud Piercer, for example, he mentions that he’s had it since his exile, but he doesn’t have many attachments to it otherwise, typical of most Vidys. And in a text convo with TB (if you have DHIL), he mentions that he doesn’t view DF’s memories as his own, but rather as “information” about him, as he’s had them since even before he was aware himself.
The reason why I say the technicalities and specifics of DH being/not being DF are kind of irrelevant is because every “good” aligned character refers to DH with his chosen identity, including those from the Luofu. The only people who insist differently are considered antagonists, and the main cast has also stated that friendship isn’t about forcing someone to do something they aren’t comfortable with. If you’re able, I encourage you to go on Youtube and watch some clips of the demeanors of those who insist upon calling DH by DF’s name (or Imbibitor Lunae) vs those who don’t, because to me, there’s a clear narrative distinction there.
The specifics are complicated for a reason, but it seems to me that DH’s story is one about defining yourself, and that isn’t necessarily denial, because he continuously acknowledges DF’s existence and influence on his life, and how his sin affected others. Hopefully any of this made sense!

Helllooooo. I know this ain't your kind to ask and I'm sorry if you feel uncomfortable but I want to know your thoughts about childhood jingren. Do you like that theorie? Or is that even a sense-making theorie?
I actually rly like jrj and love the idea of childhood friends! In terms of canon, I think it could be v plausible that they were both “youths” at the same time, which i equate to around older teen/young adult, but I think the development speed of XZ natives vs outworlders would make Actual Canon-Compliant childhood friend jrj more difficult.

Found an interesting hc frm someplace: dh not happy when jy mentioning df becos he feels jealous, like cong jealous of his crush’s exbf who actually himself in his past life…I’m not agree with it 100% but what if this is true?
i actually touched this once before w cong! though i think i would say its not so much jealousy actually as it is an insecurity maybe? df is the “shadow” that’s covered dh his entire life. during their convo on the beach, he seemed to feel he couldn’t necessarily measure up to df (“i may not be capable of the things he was capable of”) so to him, the way i see it is he’s like “don’t compare me to him, bc if you do, i might not win”
although… does that not still count as jealousy actually? idk not sure

Give me the Zhuming high elder being passive aggressive to DH and DH always flatly replying “I’m not him” as a contrast to how passionate he was w/ “do not let him cloud your image of me” to JY AND give me JY with his usual kitty smiley face reinforcing DH’s identity as himself bc even away from the Luofu he MUST be highly respected and he’s never gnna pass an opportunity to defend his boy now that he’s allowed (HC that DH’s time in the shackling prison left its mark)

I'm the only one who used "RH+xingyue anon" specifically to identify myself, I just mean others have weighed in on the subject and shared their frustrations with their own fandom too (and thank you guys, I do feel a bit less alone now). Nevertheless, I think I'll use "♤ anon" now, just off the top of my head. Also, it's unfortunately unlikely that that person will change because I've seen their Type in other fandoms and they rarely do. Best we can hope for is that their audience drops them.
AH I think I’d read your last ask too quickly 😅 and sorry it took me so long to reply to this, but thank you too for even having these convos with me I actually really appreciate being able to talk with RHers who don’t immediately jump down someone’s throat over the guys it’s genuinely v refreshing and makes it a lot easier to stomach when I inevitably see them on the TL (seeing them often reminds me of Less Sociable Circles, nothing rly against the ship itself). And yeah, I don’t expect much change from ppl like that, I just hope the stalkerish behavior is over and done with

Is it just me or did I feel something in my chest if Dan Heng chooses to vote "yes" with the rest of the Astral Express to help the Xianzhou Luofu with their Stellaron problem, Jing Yuan responds immediately in a warm tone: "Thank you, Dan Heng." I wonder if Jing Yuan was pleased and relieved to see that the reincarnation of one of his dear friends is willing to help him.
oh it’s def not just you it makes my chest warm every time 🥹 he sounds so touched bc he clearly didn’t even want to have to ask in the first place, but there was literally no one else he could turn to
dh readily accepting, regardless of his reasoning for doing so, likely made him feel at least a bit better for having to put him in that position in the first place bc of circumstance

xy-less rh shipper here (who also happens to be angst anon btw) what drew me to rh was that tasty enemies to lovers… I’m a DRRR ShiZaya veteran so their chase interested me quickly! Although I feel like usually, ppl tend to focus on bld as the “victim” of the chase bc dh has the gall to… defend himself? I guess? I like stories where they’re forced to cooperate and bld learns to see dh for himself. I also like their chase dynamic in the context of jh ive fantasized abt jy fighting bld to protect dh a lot

RH+xingyue anon here (though there've been several such anons now so maybe I should pick a different name lol), yeah, I've been seeing that person's takes in the wild and side-eying them for... I don't even remember, possibly since last year, but until the VA incident and now this, there was no definitive wrong I could point to without sounding crazy (and I never followed them so I didn't know about the harassment, but knew ENOUGH about them so it didn't shock me). Also, DARVO is their favored tactic smh.

RH+xingyue anon back again just to tell you that my reaction to seeing the actual name of the person harassing JHs was "I FUCKING KNEW IT." As a RH fandom veteran (kill me), that person was my suspect number one. I remember they raised a stink when DH's VA said DH was not DF, and tried to make it sound like he was "attacking" RH fans. Even before that, I knew them as a particularly dogmatic "lore theorist" and general red flag, so I feel sorta vindicated. Sorry you guys are dealing with them though, jfc.
