Is there a country for whatever reason you would refuse to visit? If so, why?

Preferably not one that is war-torn or where I would feel unsafe. I haven’t gone back to the motherland in over twenty years. I’m a little scared since there is so much cartel activity. I’ve had two family members kidnapped and one was decapitated. Two others have disappeared and it’s thought that they were forcibly recruited to do dirty work for one of the cartels. I can’t even trust family... not going back. :(

No. I’ve been to places that make people recoil with fear/anger/distrust. But that’s the regime, not the people. Some of the genuinely nicest groups of people you will ever come across live in places that have terrible reputations.

There are a few that aren't in my "places to visit list" because they're not in my interest spot, like India. But who knows...Japan wasn't in that list too and I visited it.🤷‍♀️

Congo would be the first I’d refuse to visit. As well as countries with cultures I know nothing about. I’m not interested in offending anyone in another country over my hair or clothes I wear.

If I weren't trapped in this shithole, I'd never even thought of visiting it. But to answer your question, probably North Korea, Turkmenistan, Syria, or any other country with an authoritarian regime in power that might put my life in danger.
