I have at least one thing from when I was ten, probably earlier. There's a velvet hoodie I have that I thought was ugly as a kid and it didn't fit me so didn't start wearing regularly until a few years ago. It's in perfect shape, fits great, it's not sloppy looking. I don't like casual hoodies.
I have a skirt that's definitely a kid's size but I like my skirts to fit at the waist which it does. I also hated it as a kid and didn't wear it, it was typical evangelical floor length garb, denim and floral, tacky as heck, but by the time I started wearing it it was tastefully vintage and ironic.
I think I still have the pair of gloves my dad bought for me when I was 10 or so. It's not very cold here and I might need to wear gloves once a year. I think because of this, I haven't even thought of buying a new pair. No need to mention that when I wear them, they get fully stretched. (Did you realize what just happened?? I mentioned something after I began my sentence with "No need to mention that". That's weird! )
A Quicksilver t-shirt I got about 18 years ago. It's been my 'haircut t-shirt' for a long time now, though. It used to bother me how after having my hair cut and washing the t-shirt I was wearing, there were usually still hairs in the neckline, making me itch. So I retired that old t-shirt and now exclusively wear it for hair cuts, and my other t-shirts remain itch free. It's lasted so long because I only get my hair cut a few times a year.
I have a couple of hoodies that are maybe 5-ish years old, they are still in good shape and there's no reason to throw them out yet. I keep one in my trunk with a blanket because you just never know when you will be caught out somewhere and freezing - this goes double if you have a girlfriend
