What is it like to have a beard? I mean, c'mon, isn't that itchy on your face?

My husband says that it is itchy and causes some pain when it’s coming in, but not afterward.

My facial hair only grows in the goatee area (between the upper lip and nose, and the chin area). That's probably one of the reasons people sometimes think I'm a high schooler. I shave the goatee area every day. I haven't had any itching problems TBH.

Generally any hair, be it on my face or on my head, create an overpopulation of a certain skin fungus which lets the skin react with itchyness, scaling and inflammation.
Theoretically I could remove all the hair to have it stopped, or I use shampoo which contains muriatic acid on every place where I've got this issue.

Yeah it gets itchy, but it's something you get used to...I keep clean shaven 90% of the time these days though, as a public service - if I get that stubble and beard going it sets all the hearts aflutter and civilization grinds to a halt

It does get itchy and such, but you need to time your grooming sessions. Otherwise you'll shave and no one will notice ;)
