My friend Anne loves to dance and she is exceptional in it. She shares this with others and I get jealous . Does this make any sense?

you're jealous that she's exceptional in dancing, or that she is sharing it with other people?

Yes. I wish I had the resources growing up to dedicate myself to a creative endeavour but alas, I'm a part of the great unwashed.

Sort of- we all have our talents. I imagine out there you have a friend who wishes they had your finesse. You can love someone and be competitive or desire recognition. It's a childlike mannerism that can drive many to higher pursuits. It's only negative if you act in a negative manner towards said friend.

Is it jealousy or just an intense admiration? Sounds like you might be competitive with your friend.

Sure, I see it all the time, it doesn't even have to be about anything specific - like when your friends meet each other and start having relationships without you and you're like 'hey wait a second! '

Always feels better when you're the only person who see's a special side of someone. It's understandable.

Makes perfect sense. I have a friend who's a talented artist, though I wouldn't describe my feelings towards her as envious of her terrific gifts, I do wish I could draw half as well as she.
