Whats your general MO when it comes to creating OC's? Do you try and give 'em a clean detailed written beginning and end? Make em a sandbox style, built for interactions kinda theme?

different for different ocs :')

Kingston and Ruth have more defined stories, Sadie and Mira are more like a sandbox style with some story (bc I wanna keep her open for just playing w friends)

But for all of them I try to keep to some theme or a basic concept/idea which is usually just exploring sth in pokemon that i think would be cool... lorewise! Eg: Ghosts... and how being able to see them will affect you or Faller... experiment.

Def sandbox!!! And once I feel like there’s a solid theme I just keep evolving them!!

Even when I do make them sandbox style, they end up evolving to have a beginning and end LMAO. So I've just accepted that most of my OCs are written to have stories, be they large epics or smaller journeys.

First I like to make em a sandbox character before thinking of any lore and then I’ll decide!

Balei is currently a sandbox character, she’s built for oc interactions! Fausto has a main story line but him collecting gym badges from regions is a way for him to not only Interact with canon characters but also people’s ocs in their fan regions! Oc interactions was actually one of the main reasons this boy was made!

When I figure it out i'll let you know LOL.
I think I generally make them with a firmly written beginning, open availability for interactions which will inform me of what the character's ending will be. I think. Maybe.
