Should singers be able to sing songs they wrote and have backing vocals on at there concert? Even if that song is more known by a different singer?

Well, I prefer them singing without backing vocals but either is okay. Perhaps if they don't overdo it.

I think singers can do what they want so long as they make it clear to their fans. That includes what they don't do, like not singling live, not writing the song and not singing without assistance (be that backing vocals or other technical assistance).

Of course, why not? Are you thinking of a specific song/singer? For example, Bob Dylan wrote the song "Blowin' in the Wind," but many people have covered it. I still think he sings it at concerts, though. He also wrote "All Along the Watchtower," and Jimi Hendrix's version is probably more famous, but I would imagine Dylan still sings it too.

Sure. Music is not an exact science, different people can put a different vibe into the same song. Nothing wrong with that.

When the cover is more popular than the original? Can be weird to learn others made a better song of yours. Or others made a popular song out of a much better song nobody knows?
