My brothers, Eudoant and Ottauro, are too vain to answer you mortals your questions. So, I will allow you to facilitate curiosities through me. Ask the Lady of Regrets what you would know.
512
Your question before makes me curious. Do you have a favored weapon, other than your guile and strategic mind?
Due to the nature of this question, we have all provided answers.
Almarala: Yes. I do. Although it is not a weapon of traditional means. I do not possess any legendary blades or fallen celestial relics. My prized weapons are my pets: the outer beasts. I have endeavored to tame several of these monsters and I keep them to use against especially strong enemies. Some of them include a small flock of plague ravens, Serpent Eradicant and The Infiltrator (which you may be familiar with as the dark counterpart to the demigod Great Kitsune). However, my absolute favorite, and the most powerful of them, was Forgotten. He has seen his last use, however, at the event which is known in our region as The Young At The Gates.
Ottauro: Unlike my siblings, I possess no individual weaponry. However, my body is capable of becoming impervious to any given force. I am only able to grant myself one such immunity at a time. This was a condition I was forced to agree to with High Judge Bahamut at The Genesis Convention. However, my limitations are but an annoyance as I am still capable of making myself into any kind of weapon I may need.
Eudoant: While my brother deems himself above weapons and my sister uses her fiends to aid her, my nature lends itself to more physical means. As such, I possess a weapon of my own. The Jury is my whip that I use to instill the pain of any given individual's sins back against them. The more numerous one's sins, the sharper its sting. The ability is derived from its material: armageddite. Although a nether mineral, it is amorphous and is able to function in a manner that could only normally be achieved by more elastic materials
Hello it's me Vitor so i don't know if you know the concept of video games and this is a reference but i wanna ask: how would you handle if the animals from hell went rogue and started appearing on earth?
I've never known of such a thing to happen in my experience but I suppose if it did, whatever plain of Existence that had to undergo such an event would be in extreme danger. By and by, I have little doubt that rogue demons would spell Doom.
Lady of Regrets, this is Plegethon, Lord of Conquest and Archdemon of Domination. I am currently... picking up the pieces from my most recent conquest attempt. In the invasion, I was able to summon power I had never conjured before.
What would you say is your most impressive feat? How powerful do you feel you could become at the peak of your strength?
Hail to thee, Lord of Conquests. Your reputation precedes you. News of your defeat has incited fear in many of the overlords from my region. They anticipate the growing resistances from many mortal realms. They anticipate them to gravitate more towards Paradise.
Now, to your question. I believe my biggest feat, in terms of mental prowess at least, would be my orchestration of the incarnations of the demigods Spirit Dragon, Pete (as they call the gryphon) and Great Kitsune. It took several years by the time it was all said and done, but each of them... found their reasons to incarnate. This has left Dimension Prime with no direct ties to Heaven. As such, all we have to do to reach our objective... well, it's better I not reveal too much. I hope this suffices as a decent story for you, my dear lord. Te alis ardentibus receptat.
Hey there, Vex here! So, I know that some things are good at repelling demons, but apparently they’re ineffective against demons that defected. I’ve never felt what things like silver, crucifixes, prayer slips, or holy water would feel like on us, but I find it weird that something so simple and often mundane can be considered a weapon against us. Even salt is considered effective. Frankly, I’m glad I discovered this after defecting, salt is great with a lot of food!
Anything else you know a demon should watch out for?
So, the redeemed ones are not effected by those things? How very fascinating. Nevertheless, hail little demon. Now, to your question. As far as mortal icons, what you mentioned covers a lot of it. However, I have learned that certain mortals are capable of invoking some ancient arts using The Lingua (many realms identify it as Latin). Equally a weapon for us as it is against us. If you do not understand it, I urge you to learn it. It will be useful to you.
Te alis ardentibus receptat.
Greetings, Lady of Regrets, Macabre once again. I am curious, is there any sort of pastime you enjoy, perhaps in order to briefly escape some of the stresses of existence, or perhaps to bring a bit of joy to yourself, or even others? For me, it is the violin, the only thing I have learned from my mother that impacted me in a positive way.
So, the strange son of the ars Goetia speaks to me again. How strange existence is. I salute you. To the essence of your question, I confess, I am not sure what I would say I consider a pastime. How can the sun ever rest if part of the world always needs its attention? In the same vein as that celestial, I am constantly needed to be working. I am always at attention. While Eudoant plays conqueror and gambles legion resources on a potential failure and Ottauro basks in his own confidence, I labour away and play a careful symphony of countless instruments. I am the one who bludgeons her hands against the brick walls of The Diamond Gates! I am the one who cut her teeth on the minds of demigods! I am the one who has stayed at the screen, reading the signs and annotating the texts of Fate to find where and when will be the exact convergence for our plans to
I am Ottauro, The Lord of Absolutes, this question shall receive no further attention. Invenias alas sub quibus tegi.
Greetings, Lady of Regrets, Gretchen of the Goetia speaking. A tale that has been circulating recently is that our Lord, Helel, lost a duel of the Strings against a mortal in I believe a province called “Georgia?”
I have my own questions as to his capabilities, for he didn’t realize that the Creator perishing in the mortal realms was part of a grander plan, where even death was temporary to Him, when there have already been plenty of foretelling of such.
I take incredible pride as a violinist, so I was wondering your thoughts as to how our Lord could fail to gain a mortal’s soul in a contest in which he had every advantage.
Hail, Lady of the ars Goetia. Praise be to your skill with the practices of music. The Georgia province exists in the country known only, and rather blandly, as The United States of America. I am told they are a resolute and persistent people.
For the capabilities of this mortal, I confess I have only one explanation to which I have just recently become privy. I have heard that some mortals, through inexplicable reasons to me, have sometimes been gifted strangely large amounts of prowess in certain disciplines and practices by none other than the Heaven-gods that created them. Those are the few individuals who do pose any level of threat to us.
That being said, I know your curiosity is to my thoughts on an overlord suffering a loss to a single mortal. Under the assumption that this mortal was Heaven-blessed, I feel sorry for him. Under the assumption that this mortal is just that talented, I hope to take him for myself before any of you do.
Te alis ardentibus receptat, Lady ars Goetia.
Good Day, Lady Almarala, this is Aria. You have probably heard of me, another Goetia noble who defected, but unlike Macabre, I didn’t intend to defect, just wait out until a different political marriage deal was worked out. There was no way I wanted to marry Lilith, Macabre’s psycho sister. Many have held similar feelings about that prospect. Definitely would have preferred Macabre out of those two, but eh, it was a purely political plan, I don’t love him in that way, and I won’t get in the way of what he has with Mirage. Besides, I found my own love in a Celestial Guardian-In-Training. He made my eventual defection worth it.
So my question is, is there perhaps anyone you have feelings for, or would they only get in the way of your plans?
Daughter of the ars Goetia who departed Pandemonium to avoid the nobles and their dramatic politics. I commend you for duty to yourself, whether it be for personal interest or bigger things. I cannot say your method is one I would have employed for myself, but your decisive action bears the mark of a strong will.
As to my own feelings, I do not have any at the moment. However, in my dealings with my brother Ottauro, The Lord of Absolutes, I have come to find that dealing in such is an ill-fated practice. So, no. There is currently nobody I have such an attachment to. But, yes, there is a possibility I might.
Greetings to you, Lady Almarala. I am Phlegethon, Lord of Domination, Conquest, and Violence. I recently tasted total defeat for the first time in my eons of conquest. I have been defeated by those Heavenly Guardians before, but never before have my forces been torn asunder and routed by a single individual, nor have I felt terror grip my heart. I have been told the individual was mortal, but I refuse to believe it.
But, for my question. Have you ever had your plans thwarted completely through the actions of a single interloper?
Hail to thee, Lord of Conquering. I have heard the tale of your unprecedented failure. I do urge you to remember that, despite the exacerbation of a single failure, your victories resound loudly across the Rings. Mortals are especially unpredictable individuals, for most. Do not be so surprised by their ability to be resourceful. Since their natural power is not extensive, they find artificial ways to match us.
As to any ruin brought about to my plans? Not to a greatly meaningful degree. It should also be considered that I, myself, have never endeavored to invade a mortal realm as of yet. However, the closest interference I have ever faced was the death of my pet, Forgotten. However, I knew I would have to sacrifice during The Young At The Gates. I'm sure the term means very little to you, but know that it was a pivotal moment in my eternal campaign.
Greetings, Lady of Regrets. My name is Macabre. I see you have already heard mention of me from my mother, Gretchen of the Goetia families. I don’t regret what I have done in the slightest. I was willing to bond with my younger sister, Lilith, when we first met, before she revealed her true intentions of wanting to cause me grief by harming those I love. She has yet to succeed in that task.
But I’m curious, how is your relationship with your brothers, Eudoant and Ottauro? Even in Hell, I know it’s possible for bonds to form between blood. I recall many whispers over a lack of such between my mother and the rest of the family being odd for someone who wants to spread influence. She at least has that now with my sister.
Son of the ars Goetia who left behind Pandemonium. I must admit, I am not exactly sure how to address you properly. You have taken leave of your titles with your defection and it leaves me with no formal name for you. As such, I shall call you only by your name, Macabre. And for your status of departing Pandemonium, I pity you but you will find no quarrel from me. Just keep in mind you make yourself subject to being involved in my plans now.
To answer your question now. I was the second created of the Hirukote. Ottauro was before me and Eudoant after. As my older brother, Ottauro serves as counsel to me on many things. He can be incredibly wise and insightful, sometimes seeing alternate paths even when I cannot. I respect him and admire his wisdom. I can just not bring myself to understand his fascination with motorcycles. Eudoant is the youngest of us and it shows. He is brash, reckless and often plagued with hubris. He is more distant than Ottauro and I are to each other but it is largely of his own volition. He thinks we see ourselves as being above him and believes we are indecisive and weak. He is a fool and often acts before considering any repercussions, but there would be eternal torment if any demon, regardless of how strong they thought they were, attempted to erase him. That includes the ars Goetia. Whether you think it is because we are only useful to each other or because we genuinely share a family bond, the one consistent truth I can say across all interpretations is that The Lord of Absolutes, The Lord of Vices and The Lady of Regrets will always stand at each other's sides.
While I believe you have made a mistake in leaving Pandemonium behind, you appear to know what you are doing. I admire your resolve to seek a path outside of the ars Goetia. In many ways, they are like mortal mafias, from what I gather. To go against family is the ultimate sin. That being said, I hope you do not regret it in the near future. Your view of the multiverse is a relatively uncommon one, and I would enjoy continuing to share it with you. Normally, I would end this conversation with The Burning Angel's Salute, but it feels inappropriate for you. So, instead, I say to you, invenias alas sub quibus tegi.
Hey, so, we don't usually have too much of a problem with things like demon invasions in our world, but given recent visits by a couple Goetia nobles including the one I imprisoned, I'm somewhat concerned that might change. Is there something that could be done that might deter a demon from trying to invade?
For many demons, there are a lot of deterrents. For the more powerful ones, and if your concern is with the ars Goetia then you are talking about powerful ones, there is very little to be done to keep them away. Honestly, I was not aware the ars Goetia were making attempts on mortal worlds recently, so I commend them for their subtlety and you for your apparent ability to counteract them. One thing I can suggest is by finding their angelic counterpart. The ars Goetia are an immortal family, like myself and my brothers, as such, Heaven has a proverbial counterpart to us. If the angelic counterparts maintain a close watch on a reality, it will hinder the demonic counterparts' ability to gain a foothold in it. That being said, they can't be in every reality at once, so keep in mind that by saving your reality you may doom another one that is not as well prepared.
Greetings, Lady Almarala! This is Pepper, master chef of the third circle! I make deals with mortal chefs, granting them my recipes in exchange for their souls, which I then use as ingredients on my very own cooking show. I have met a number of demons who enjoy my program. I was simply wondering if you had seen it and, if you had, if it interested you! If not, is there anything the Lady of Regrets enjoys for leisure during the long periods of waiting between plots and plans?
It is funny, isn't it, what mortals will give up for a temporary thing like a cooking recipe? It's a perfect setup for you, though, and I commend you for your clever playing on mortal passions. As to your show, I believe I have seen bits and pieces of it. We use our crystal to watch it on occasion. We have so much time between moments of action that Eudoant, Ottauro and I indulge in many different kinds of entertainment.
Eudoant is telling me not to let you know he is a close follower of your show. That being said, if I know him, he really wants you to know. He became rather fixated on recreating your Spectre Souffle after that episode a few weeks ago.
Since you asked about other interests, I will give you a short list. I am fond of going into The Wilds At The Edge and taming some of the beasts there. I'm sure you were aware of the death of my pet, Forgotten. It was published all over our region and I was sure it would make it much further than that. Beasts of its caliber are the kind I enjoy taming. I also like meddling in Universes and Unrealities campaigns when the more accident-prone demigods lose track of their events. It is... unusually eventful when they return to the chaos.
Gretchen of the Goetia, esteemed Lady Almarala, and I find it curious that you are biding your time before getting to Heaven.
Our Lord, Helel, was granted Audience with the Almighty some millennia ago over a single mortal, and a Goetia heir, or should I say, the traitor, Aria, was allowed to spend time there long before she defected for some rookie Guardian.
If you wish to disclose such information, why the need to wait?
It is a most strange condition which keeps us from making it to Heaven so easily. It is impossible for us to gain an audience with any of Heaven for they created us, albeit indirectly and unwittingly, with the sole purpose of exiling absolutes, regrets and vices from their realm. So, we have to catch our chance at a moment when Heaven is at its most vulnerable. The moment when this happens is during wars.
Of course, this likely begs the question, "Why not use the massive wars like World War II?" Well, unfortunately, that souls thing works two ways. Evil souls and good souls die in war, so we have to stretch ourselves as thin as Heaven does. Another thing is that non-human are the only thing more guaranteed to go to Heaven at the time of death. So, attacking a pet friendly neighborhood with an abundant forest of wildies nearby? It's a perfect place. But we can only get up there if a mortal... "invites" us up.
It's a complicated series of ridiculous technicalities, but it is the reason why we have been forced to wait so long. It was an honor hearing from you again, Mistress Goetia. Te alis ardentibus receptat.
Other then the bike I took...you guys...missing anything else down there? :)
Nothing of any true importance. Though, I can assume something must be gone. Tell me, brave mortal, what you have purloined from me and my brethren.
Hey, there, name’s Vex, low-tier demon, formerly aligned with Hell.
That’s right, defected rather recently. Do recommend it, Heaven’s nice, and there will be people to back you up if you’re sincere when some more uptight Celestials feel like starting beef with you, but I have something else I’d like to ask.
See, I have this friend named Mirage. Girl has a huge appetite, but seems like the only thing she can’t stomach is black licorice, which is saying a lot considering she’s basically a black hole.
What’re your thoughts on black licorice?
You have made a mistake in your defection, little Vex. You see it through the rose-colored lens that Paradise is shrouded in, but you will see what we see someday.
As to your friend Mirage's taste of black licorice, I find it hard to give an opinion on it given that it tastes like rubber air. Ottauro seems to enjoy it, though. Overlords know why.
Howard: "Against my better judgement... Don has a few questions."
Don: "Right, so... You're a demon? How long have you existed for? Have you been watching the progression of human history, or does someone like you usually not bother with the affairs of mortal people?"
Howard: "I suppose I'll add a question of my own. Are you missing any demons down there? The Ruins of Nassau were screaming for hours last night, and I have seen a number of rather demonic-looking creatures wandering the streets during my scouting earlier, so you've got some hanging out here."
I have existed since close to the conception of Pandemonium alongside my brothers. We embody three things that Paradise cannot tolerate for its own ideal self. Since we were brought into existence, we have watched, to some degree, the progression of many mortal planes. The ones closer to Paradise are the ones we watch closer. Dimension Prime is one of the closest. Difficult for us to get to, much closer to our ultimate goal. We watch them often, planning and composing our plans to eventually reach for our chance at bringing ruin to Paradise.
