Not really. The problem I have with a lot of retro games is that the gameplay is primitive, unfair/punishing, or lacking the QoL improvements I've become accustomed to with more modern games. I'm cool with modern indie games with old-school graphics. It's when they're also old-school in how brutal and unfair the gameplay is that I'm put off. Challenging retro-styled games can be fun, just as long as they're fair.
