[Stolen from Quora] Why do people wear clothes at home?

Imagine the hot fat of your frying pan splash on your skin without protection. Also imagine sitting in the cold at home with goosebumps?

Comfort and protection. I don’t want to cook or eat hot soup in my underwear. I feel more uncomfortable without clothes on than with.

For the same reason we wear them in public: society is sexophobic and we're terrified of seeing each other's bodies.

Idithar. This is in Arabic and it means pressing the body gently. This is an emotional action.
