Car question: I understand why some people lift their trucks, but why do some weirdos lower their trucks? Like, they should get a normal car instead?

Maybe so...? Have you ever asked them why they lower their trucks? I think it's probably a stylistic thing, as some of the others mentioned here. Lowrider culture is part of the whole gangster thing. :)

One time I saw a super low truck and thought … dude could you go any lower? Then I noticed he had a bumper sticker that said “the lower I go the more she loves it.” I nodded with appreciation. I respect that.

Here in California, it’s part of the “lowrider” (Chicano/Mexican-American) culture that started sometime in the 1940s. You’ll see many of these in Southern California, especially Los Angeles. Many of the vehicles have hydraulics on them and are used as show vehicles or for special occasions such as weekend cruising with car clubs. There is even a magazine dedicated to these vehicles called Lowrider Magazine. https://youtu.be/MQAHp-vRW9Q?si=PV4oQpllacVXEOFc They’re kind of fun to go look at.

They first buy a truck because it is bulky and strong and has an impressive height which makes it tough to go also off-road and then they find it uncool that nobody can see them grin in a feeling of superiority and must lower the frame so that folks can see them in their truck glory. Just 'n idea.

Well I guess it's for the same reason some people make their cars unreasonably low: it's stylish. Maybe it's the vehicular equivalent of wearing your jeans half-way down your butt. =P
