What do you think about "Fries Before Guys" and "Bros before Hoes"?
I think "bros before hoes" makes sense, to an extent, because girlfriends always come and go; friendships tend to last longer, so why let them get destroyed by "romantic" interests. There may even be more love in the average friendship, because when it comes to dating I think each person is looking to get something from the other person and it's more like an exchange. But I say it makes sense "to an extent" because if you really fall in love with a great girl then that may be more important than friends.. but then, if she's that great, why would you have to give up your friends =P
I've never heard of "fries before guys", but it sounds like a mantra of eating whatever you feel like and not caring if you get fat, which is disgusting.
Fries before guys? Never heard that before...also it's not really analogous to me - the whole point of the 'bros' line is about solidarity and friendship, is the suggestion here that women cannot rely upon each other where a dude's involved and better just to get fries instead? I mean fries are a solid choice but still
I'm for it tbh, mostly because I'll take fries over guys any day of the week -- esp if they're from McDonalds, those make me real moist.
Sometimes your bro is also your ho--so what then, Aristotle, you bitch? Yeh, it's his quote. dont google it. In fact, I would say that 100% of the time your bro is also your ho if y'all are for real. If you're sure that your bro isn't your ho then y'all aren't really bros, y'all aren't really close, you've clearly never been in The Shit together, and your relationship is basically meaningless.
'Fries before guy' is illegal because if you were starving it'd probably be more sustaining to eat a guy rather than a fry. It's misleading and it could cost people their lives.
The femme equivalent of 'bros before hos' is actually 'sisters before misters.' Although, my friend has a cat named Mr. Baby and I'm concerned she could feel excluded here. She's a pretty swanky cat, and I don't think she deserves to be excluded. I also feel that if you refer to all grils as your 'sisters' all the time then the ones that are dtf are going to think you're straight.
These are my thoughts on the the matter
I always interpreted "Bros before hoes" as meaning something along the lines of "Do not risk a valuable friendship just for the chance to get laid" and I think that is valid and meaningful advice for life. Sometimes our sexual desire leads us to do stupid stuff that - were we calm and reasonable in the moment - we would recognize as such. To have a maxime like that is helpful to remind oneself to that quickly when it is important.
If it is interpreted as "Your male friends are always privileged, even compared to your wife or best female friends" I deem that unsound, but that interpretation is not very charitable.
"Fries before guys" I have never heard before, but I guess it is just a gendered equivalent?
