Question!! Do you happen to have the code the changes the background image of the characters profiles? It's not CCS, its a code that can change the background of your folders,characters,bulletins, etc. I cant find it :']

im honestly not sure what you’re asking for exactly here but any type of general resource code i offer is in my freebie section at the bottom, under the resource section. for generic coding questions like this you’re better off asking in the forums or the coding help server!

yeah, you can still use retired codes! i just don’t offer them anymore but if you still like it feel free to keep using it

Hello!! I was curious about how you change fonts on css for toyhou.se? I've seen quite a few of my mutuals have done it but i'd rather ask someone who has more experience with it!!
Also your css cheat sheets are a lifesaver for folders n such!! love your work <3

To change fonts you need a premium membership, you can then import google fonts and use those! (If you need more details than this then try asking in the forums or in the coding discord sever, my ask box is not for detailed coding instructions)

Hello! So sorry I’m advance to be a bother, especially if this question has been asked and/or answered already.. I tried looking through all your codes but couldn’t find the one used here https://toyhou.se/10954534.kingfisher and was just curious if it was an old or discontinued code? Or if I’m just blind 😭 or if it’s a combined/edited code. Sorry again to be annoying, it’s just been driving me crazy because I’m obsessed with the layout.

Do you have any tips for beginner coders? Just curious how you learned all the cool coding and stuff,if you also happened to have code snippets maybe? >< sorry if disturbing just programming and coding is my future dream job/current hobby and also have a great day<3

I first learned HTML from the neoepts coding tutorial way back in the day (like neopets had an HTML tutorial on site for making petpages haha) and learned everything else from google/reading online tutorials. Now a days there a million more resources out there so you dont really need to use ol' neopets, find literally any tutorial that speaks to you or watch youtube tutorials. I cant recommend a specific one cuz everyone learns different, you'll need to find one that you like.

If I had any general advice, it'd be...

code your own layouts. When I first started making templates, I was basically the only person. Every code I have made, I write myself. I didnt reference anyone else's work or follow any toyhouse tutorials, I knew HTML and CSS and I applied that knowledge to toyhouse to make things. I noticed now a days a lot of people rely on copying and pasting existing templates and just hoping it works. And this can make you something, but you're not going to learn as much as if you write your own code, research what you need to do, troubleshoot your own issues, etc. Basically you learn by doing!
use real coding tutorials to learn HTML/CSS and apply that knowledge to toyhouse. I noticed a rise of people making toyhouse "tutorials" and most of them are just people copying and pasting existing documentation which I don't... really get (I'm assuming it's to get easy favs? lol). Go read the real docs! Don't focus on teaching yourself how to make a toyhouse template, teach yourself HTML/CSS + bootstrap and use toyhouse as the place you practice the concepts you learn.
don't get too discouraged. learning takes a while. you probably wont understand everything on your first try, and often not on your second or third. i see a lot of people not get things right away and go "im too stupid to do this" but that's not true, learning these things is hard and takes time, you're not dumb if you don't get it right away, you just need more practice! it will probably be a few months before you're really comfortable with CSS, and for real programming languages it can take longer. it's normal, you'll get better as you get more experience !

And as a general note, what you do on toyhouse is very light HTML/CSS and not really reflective of being a programmer. I work full time as a web dev and toyhouse is my side hobby cuz I like characters and doing front end stuff. Programming is a great career to get into, I like it a lot! I personally learned a lot of programming stuff by following multi part series youtube videos - people have videos where they'll make an entire site/program, and each video will cover a different concept of site they're making. The programs they make are very simple and meant to showcase the language so you can get an understanding of the basics, I think these are a great way to learn new concepts so it might be something you wanna check out.

Sorry I missed this question... but you do not have to buy it again, if you purchased on itchio then just go to our purchase history and redownload the character zip, the updated files are in there. If you purchased on gumroad you'll need to PM me for an itchio transfer !

hii I tried to use this code https://toyhou.se/5270043.-freebie-flat-world and put dark mode, Idk if it's because I used it on a character instead of a world, but the sidebar remains white like the light mode, and the font becomes white too so I can't read anything :0 https://toyhou.se/15941768.- is there any way to change the color of the sidebar or font?

this css is intended for worlds, please do not use it anywhere else. in general if CSS is not working correctly it's usually either...

using it in a place where it is not intended, i code most my css to break when used incorrectly
not installing it correctly (either not copying all the CSS, or not setting switches correctly)
combining with other CSS; if you paste two css imports together they will conflict and break

quick question as i havent been on TH for a long while: do you have some kind of archive of your old codes or have updated them since then? i was hoping to find your old Pokemon character code just to have an untampered version but i guess its been gone for a while

i saw you asked on my FAQ and answered there, but gonna re-paste it there too just in case anyone else comes around with the same question: i do have some old css, but most HTML was lost a long while back when i was moving between computers. i don't have any of my pokemon codes anymore, sorry!

the old premium overview code preview shouldn’t even be up, i must have made a mistake with its listing & i shall fix that tonight. I no longer sell that and will not re-list it. I have several bundles with “overview” HTML - Flatly, Widescren, Tug, Cute, Tidy and Split all have variations of it. I would recommend one of those if you want a premium version of Overview !

I wasn’t asking for you to fix, I just thought you’d say it was because it’s limited to the original amount of box’s because I don’t think I broke the code because I messed around with other areas of the code and I was able to fix it fine, but thank you for the advice/resource I really appreciate it.

sorry if my answer wasn’t worded right. i meant more any type of question there is “how do i do this?” or “why isn’t this working?” i don’t handle - even if you’re not asking me to write the code for you you’re asking me to explain how to code you which takes more time and effort than me just writing the code LOL i am not someone who is good at explaining/teaching things, i like to write code but I don’t speak well. There are people in the coding discord that are able to answer questions/explain things really well so I always recommend them! Glad you were able to fix it tho, editing code yourself requires gaining a certain level of understanding of what you’re looking at, being able to teach yourself means you’re pretty sharp, anon 💃🏻

Hello I have a question about your coding of “gridly” where I added an extra trivia box for quotes instead, but the layout between that and the characters relationship box won’t separate like I can’t get the boarder separation to appear for some reason, I hope this made sense.

I’ve got a question I bought a chara from someone his name is Tobias but the coding is off? And it’s all glitchy instead showing his name and your the one that they used for the coding and what not and. I was wondering how I fix it also idk how to credit someone who does coding but I’ll try to update it to pinky if I can I just wasnt sure how else to get ahold of you so I tried here

my best guess is WYSIWYG isn’t turned off properly, it ruins the code. follow my rules to turn it if off properly (don’t use the toggle, use display settings, i explain how to do this in my rules and troubleshooting tips) and paste in a fresh copy to replace the ruined coding. as stated in my rules i don’t support freebie content if you need help try asking on the forums or in the TH coding discord https://discord.gg/hZFvnww
