I’ve never seen much point in them. I’ve managed fine with these two hands my whole life. I always think people in relationships who use them together lack imagination. If you think your relationship is in jeopardy because of something that comes in a box with batteries (pardon the pun), I think that’s very very sad and a bit pathetic. As for their impact on society: don’t make me laugh!

Those are toys. They do not replace the real thing but can be enjoyed independently for what they are. Since they exist since centuries if not much, much longer, I do not expect them to be changing the world any time soon. Remote controlled toys might be a way to involve more than one party and as a play could potentially have social and cultural influences a bit in the future. In any case get the sort that is eco friendly made from material that can be recycled and with components the are of sustainable character, like e.g. rechargeable batteries. When you are a person who reacts with jealousy caused by a vibrator or such I cannot help you, a tiny machine is not a lover, friend, or competition for your love. You do not compete with an electric tooth brush for kisses either. Relax. Having a partner for sex is very nice for some but not for everyone. But almost everyone has a sex hunger, and that appetite can be satisfied not only by one sort of meal, we all know that a diet of burgers-only is boring very quickly. So regard toys maybe as an addition to the menu and everybody might select and chose from the menu according to taste and appetite, no rules to follow but enjoying your meal, whatever it is.

I don't know much about sex toys' impact on relationships and society, but I see them as basically harmless. However, as they get sophisticated enough not only to stimulate sex organs but also to simulate the whole sex act, including its intimacy with another human, I think this will screw people up in subtle ways. It'll be an abomination.
