If you had to guess what country has the highest rate or cosmetic/plastic surgeries per capita (without Googling it) who do you think it would be? Why?

I think I heard once that Iran had the highest number of cosmetic surgeries. I could be completely wrong.

I know it's very common in Japan. Actually, I'm not sure it's Japan I'm thinking of. It could be China, or more likely whichever side of Korea K-pop comes from, because I think I remember the fact being associated with K-pop.

I'd guess South Korea because I've heard it's quite common there with young people. It seems like a lot of the K-pop singers have had stuff done and that would have a big influence on their young fans.

South Korea. Needs to be fact checked but I've heard girls will get double eyelid surgery for their 16/18th birthdays there. Plus I followed kpop for a couple years back in the day and remember what the Korean beauty standard was like for those industry ppl, how harsh the pressure was to look a certain way

South Korea. I read something about it a while ago. I remember a few years ago reading about how South Korean skincare was the next big thing, and how the nine/ten/eleven-step beauty routine was becoming the norm there. I suppose the next step would be plastic surgery.

USA, probably. We're obsessed with looks, beauty, and celebrity culture. Plus we have a lot of places that do plastic surgery, even illegally. ;)

India because they hate dark skin and have every manner of procedure for skin bleaching/lightening

United States of America. It's got the most money per person in the world and those procedures are expensive.
