Since my friend in primary school was my bully, physical bullying. I just learned how to be polite to just about anyone

I don't. I try to steer the conversation on my own battle ground where things are more interesting.

I zone in and out of reality and repeat the last word they said every few seconds. I also say “seriously?” and “really?” often, nod my head, shake my head, or smile or frown. All depends on the mood of the convo.

Listen intently, nod, and make noncommittal comments from time to time.

That's my everyday struggle...

I just say "mmmm" and keep my focus on something else. Have to do this all the time at work when the day shifters show up

Fake a heart attack and then pretend to be dead on the floor with your tongue hanging out.

That's less impolite than outright telling someone you don't care about their cruise, right?

I don't talk to boring people.

I don't fake anything

Just ask the appropriate questions to allow them to continue running their mouth, but keep them to yes or no ones, it's like containing a forest fire
