Why is salmon so expensive?

Supply and demand. It’s delicious and nutritious, but catching fish is quite literally a career path of its own, and it can only be accomplished seasonally. I live in coastal American state, so surprisingly seafood isn’t that expensive here

No idea. I don’t buy it or eat it much. All the oils in it make me nauseous.

No idea, little idiots flopping their way upstream just to get eaten by a bear SMH

Demand outperforms natural resources. So breeders and fish farms set up an industry that still cannot cover the demand. So it is not cheap.

Salmon are noble creatures, so we pay a lot to honor the lives of the salmon that we're taking in order to consume them. J/k as if that were the way society works. =d
