this is a really great question; we could make it like this: this person takes my "curse", so becomes the mummy and remains in the sarcofagus for like for a thousand years, and i roam now free and happy

Change the bodily manifestation of their emotions. Like making them laugh whenever they're sad or making them cry whenever they're happy or making them look calm whenever they're super angry.
