Have you ever used The Internet Archive (archive.org) or its WayBack Machine? If so, what's your favorite thing that you've discovered there?

(If you haven't used it, I recommend taking a visit now and browsing around a bit, it's my favorite site on the Internet)

I do use archive.org, and contribute to it myself(through the ArchiveTeam). I don't really browse it much, but it has been useful when doing research.

Have you ever sought out information that might challenge your beliefs, or arguments for positions you disagree with - not to "debunk", but to better understand the othet side and potentially change your view? Do you think it is a good idea to do so?

Those of you who use Linux: What was your first Linux distribution, and what was your experience like?

Those of you who don't use Linux: What is your impression of Linux, based on the information you currently have? Would you ever consider using Linux as the operating system on your main PC?

Those who don't know what I'm talking about: What is the primary device you use to access the Internet?

My first linux distro was Ubuntu, if I remember correctly. Back in 2018 or something. Didn't stick for it long and moved to arch, as stupid a decision as that was.

It's Bandcamp Friday! Are you planning to/did you buy any music today?

If you don't know what that is - on the first Friday of most months, Pacific Time, the digital music store Bandcamp gives 100% of every sale to the artists and labels, where otherwise it would take a 15% cut. Usually labels do sales on Bandcamp Friday too, for example this one has made their entire catalog free or name-your-price: https://hakunakulala.bandcamp.com/

If you could bring back one defunct internet-based thing (website, protocol, game server, online feature of some device, …), what would you pick and why?

While it's not truly defuct I would love if less corporate chat protocols like xmpp and irc were more used outside of niche tech communities, they're very nice if you just want to chat with someone and forget about all the bullshit of modern closed chat apps.
