Do you ever really get over depression?

When you suffer from depression it is a serious illness and the condition will probably last for life but treatment can help to survive and cope with it and lead to a good life after all. But we also might have depressive phases and moods that are showing some similar symptoms though it is not the illness but a temporary phase that usually does not need treatment.

I don't think so, I believe you just learn to manage it enough that it takes a backseat.

yea, just get a pair of running shoes and smell the fresh air

jk. some cases are more easily treated than others

I don't think you "get over it", like it just poofs away one day. I think with difficulty people recover from depressive episodes. And I think people with chronic depression can manage their symptoms, but like with a physical illness there are good and there are bad days.

I don't know, for me it's making it through one day at a time, or maybe even one hour at a time - there are OK times and there are pretty damn far from OK times
