What’s the right way to cut toast? Vertically, horizontally, or diagonally?
I don't cut toast.
This is dependant on a number of factors: what’s on it; what I’m eating it along with; what kind of bread it is; my whereabouts (Am I in public, for instance.); will I be folding it; even plate size. Any one of these can determine the optimum cut orientation. For example, toast with Nutella must be cut across, because I like to fold my half slice over. And don’t sit there thinking “Why doesn’t she just put one slice on top of the other then?” “Because that would be wrong!” I yell. “That would then be a sandwich - A. Sand. Wich! And what kind of barbarian eats sandwiches for breakfast?!” And who would be prim enough to put beans on top of toast cut at an angle? That screams fur coat and no drawers to me, that does. And don’t get me started on toast cut vertically. The person who does that deserves to be tried for crimes against humanity. I could talk about this all day. Toast is serious stuff.
I don't cut it
I cut toast vertically and after toasting a slice I cut it diagonally into two triangles.
I'm kind of old fashioned because I believe the correct way to cut toast is in little circles that you then stack on top of each other and smash with your open palm
Vertically. I'm not a heathen 😊
Diagnoally or you ain't eaten with me on the same table!!!
