Little squares. I find that the least messy way to eat a sandwich. And believe me, I’ve put in the legwork.
I’m not a sandwich person.
I don't really share sandwiches, I have an adult mouth, and I don't make sandwiches thicc or big enough to need to cut one to fit it in my hole, so I don't cut them and haven't for a very long time. If I get a sandwich that thicc or larj then someone else made it, and it's probably cut by them.
But when I was a kid, when we got home from school, I pretty much always made my brother a peanut butter sandwich for dinner. And I always sliced his sandwiches diagonally, which only really works if the sandwich isn't thicc. He probably could have managed it without slicing it, but it made him feel special and loved if I sliced it. I think I cut it that way because at the time it was the only way I'd seen a sandwich sliced... The ones at school, in hospital vending machines, and my parents probably cut sandwiches for me when I was really little, too. Also, it's just a little more effort to do it right and make it look nice and even, which helps with the "feeling loved" thing.
But on a thicc boi you pretty much gotta go straight down the middle imo

Diagonal when I do them myself. Cross chop is a bit too tiny and something considered more ladylike. But I'm no lady and my manners are more suitable for a bar!
Its funny you say that - you're not the first one to think there are feminine ways of slicing sandwiches :o
It isn't gender specific I think, but a great deal is depending upon old standards and role model expectations. People here do the New Baby in town thing.
The have a signpost in the garden or attached to the house. Often in the shape of a stork.
When the sign reads: It's a Kevon the plate is blue, when it reads it's a Lucy then the plate is pink.
Also you must never dress a baby in anything else but blue or pink to avoid keeping people uncertain about the gender.
This cultural stereotype get shoven down everybodies throat here. Beware if you digress and handle it differently or the Lord forbid: keep it sectret!
A new baby is something to be announced on your front door. And the signpost has to survive four seasons before removal.

I don't. If I wanted to slice one, I'd probably slice it vertically because diagonally is too fancy and cultural or whatever. F*ck norms and cultural brainwashing! Also why have some of your half really thin and some really wide? It makes no sense!
