I’m wheat colored. I have no issues with it now but growing up my porcelain white skinned cousin get admired and praised by my grandma so much for her perfect complexion that I started to get a complex. I remember playing one summer with my cousin and she put her hand in the water and it looked so white. I put mine down next to her and mine looked so ugly (to me). So I flipped my hand over to have my palm face up… and I was still darker than her. It made me sad.
Not really. My skin has a hue that doesn't fit most colours, it bears acne scars, it is bitchy as hell due to allergies and invents every years or so a new symptom of general unwillingness. Nature though tries to compensate for that by having put many sensitive nerves into my skin which makes touch a nice pleasure for me. There actually are people who say that touch is getting on their nerves, even when they like the touching person. Geez!
