Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of trolling? What type of personal satisfaction does it bring?

Some of them might want to feel like they're in control if they didn't feel powerful enough otherwise.

There's different kinds of trolling. Ken M is about as wholesome a troll as you're ever going to find, not all of them are little sadists. But generally it's done for entertainment purposes.

You can't just let goats cross bridges to eat the grASS on the other side, with zero obstacles that they must overcome with their keen skills.

Basically it narrows down to a disassociative mindset and freedom from consequences. Trolling is a sign of the times. 🐿️ It's odd/funny how not everything in life has purpose (somethings just happen) and we create/mold/ - "give it reasoning" so the world fits into perspective. I may be wrong, I admit life's filled with much I don't fully understand but I'm trying to. If you ever find out what it is keep us posted on this.

I think trolls get a sense of false superiority when they “expertly” get under someone’s skin. They see it as a special talent.

Back in the Myspace days I thought it was just a fun way to kill some time, albeit I was never malicious about it, I just enjoyed the back and forth with randoms, and getting to flex my creativity muscles in things I'd make up to sound plausible. That said people are a lot more "savage" about their trolling these days, but I'm sure it is to get that same sort of satisfaction.

I guess it makes some people feel superior since they usually evade any social punishment? Also maybe living out childish trumphs over people they feel inferior to?

To.make the troll feel superior and the victim feel worthless, this only works if the intended victim actually feels victimised. Best way is to ignore or deprive the troll of the response he/she/they desire.

You know rhetorics become borings when they're seriously asked, they make sense only one way.
