How is your OC with kids? Are they good at handling them or are they the type that doesn’t really like dealing with children?
Wayva teaches kids how to swim. She's the best at it.
Dory is great with kids and she has an energy and vibe that makes kids love her back. She’s very patient and takes their problems seriously. Nya scares kids at the supermarket.
Briar is surprisingly good with children despite not having any kids or siblings. She has that aunt energy to her, I always imagine her like Edna Moda who's very happy to take care of other people's kids for them for the day.
Teenagers also really like her, both because she's famous but because she has this "cool, rich aunt" vibes that's always traveling the world, bringing expensive gifts and drinking wine. However, the only teenager she has actually taken care of is Nia, who's also her only niece LOL
But she doesn't really want to have any kids lol
Estella's actually quite good with them but she thinks she isn't/won't be. She has a lot of fun with them while managing to remain responsible
Ruth: genuinely doesn't know what to do with kids, if she had to deal with them she'd try to channel Wicke but she's struggling to find things to say since she didn't have a very normal childhood she may have trouble relating but she'd still try her best QWQ
Mira: she's a teacher and deals w kids pretty often so she's got a good handle! Plus helping to raise Mali as a kid and having an interest in stories means she's GREAT at finding things to talk about with the kids and she genuinely loves hearing what they have to say about books!
Kingston: Ohh a tough question... before getting (traumatized in Zirca) he was actually really good with kids bc he was a lil more extroverted and while in Johto he was around a lot of relatives with younger children... so he was the fun older cousin the kids liked... even if they weren't particularly close. He'd still look out for them, especially the younger ones who didn't REALLy have full control of their... ghost-sensing abilities and got trailed by ghost pokemon, he'd let them hang around him bc he's got a bunch of cleanse tags stuck to him to ward off ghosts and just being in his vicinity helps keep them at bay x'D. I guess the thing I'll say that stays consistent with Kingston dealing w kids is that he doesn't... talk down to them (in that way most adults do, like they will ask a question and not really care about the answer, or just say things to placate the kid) so they like being around him! (with his own kids he's initially a bit awkward but thats bc interacting w someone else's kids vs your own is very different HAHA)
Odd actually vibes pretty well with kids. He loves seeing how their minds can work/how they process the world around them, and he can draw a pretty good compromise between leveling with them and not taking too much of the whimsy out of things.
Balei has kids of her own so she has experience with taking care of them, although she is as equally hyper as some of the kids she takes care of so it’s a just a room full of energy lol
Fausto isn’t the greatest with kids, he often gets into fights with them, but he can be like an older brother and care for them in his own way even if he’s a lil mean
Elio's good with kids, unsurprisingly. If we don't count his generally nurturing and magnanimous demeanor, Elio has experience dealing with and properly raising children - whether they be human or Pokemon.
When it comes to Pokemon, Elio would willingly assist his Ranger best friends nurturing newborn Pokemon and their parents who were trapped in dire situations; this tends to happen quite frequently during his Unovan travels because of the machinations of Ghetsis and his hired Pokemon Hunter goons. Later, during his "partnership" with the Aether Foundation, he was forced to do temp work despite being a Team Skull Admin - which naturally includes caring for abandoned, injured or newborn Pokemon that would later be put up for adoption.
In terms of humans, a small portion of his fans is younger kids who just received their first Pokemon - a lot of whom are also fellow New Torkers. So typically, there would usually be a group of kids that would want to spend time with Elio; though his time with them was usually brief, he would entertain them, tutor them about Pokemon and battling, or simply help them with any problems that they may have to the best of his ability. Additionally, during his academy days, he would spend time at the orphanage where Ashe grew up - which was tailored to kids who either came from or lost their families to the Ultra Wormholes and Spatio-Temporal anomalies that commonly occurred throughout the city. Whenever possible, he would assist Ashe, the older children, and the staff in taking care of the younger crowd; though done out of the goodness of his heart, it somehow caught wind with the press and he received a lot of publicity for it.
Wily is very surprisingly good with kids. For some reason his "villain face" seems not to affect kids and Pokémon, and he doesn't talk down to children(mostly because his own development was so weird he doesn't see why anyone would).
Phillip is not great with young kids, if a bit too inattentive(takes him a while to learn the kind of focus and patience needed), but he's GREAT with teenagers and relates to them very well.
Mahra is great with them, both personally and professional. (She did manage to basically raise Wily from age 11)
Polly is good kids, but it really tugs on her heartstrings to see a child in grief, since it's also unusual.
Sivrit would be pretty bad with them due to having little patience.
