Do you think people are running out of songs to sing?

There's been a lot of remakes this year.

Nah, the industry is just going for the easy profit rather than the artistic achievement.

When that happens, you can always look to independent artists on Bandcamp and the medium-sized independent labels to deliver something fresh.

Well, music has been being made for so long that if we were going to run out of songs to sing, I think it would have happened a long time ago. Also, like what, 99% of songs are about relationships? So you'd think there'd be plenty of room for novelty if people just thought outside the box. I think it's just market forces that are somehow making music more homogeneous and less original.

Ideas for good lyrics must be endless.

The more musical part of music, not so much.

I think we're just overstimulated as a society so its becoming really hard to be uniquely creative regardless of the medium.

As per my comment, I don't think it's the singers themselves, but rather the producers and record labels. They see covers and remakes as easy money, because they're recognizable and possibly marketable to older generations too. Even the streaming services, which are somewhat known for more innovation, have a lot of sequels and remakes as well.

They are running out of inspiration 'cause that industry doesn't honour creativity and fresh ideas and wants to stay at low cost and high sales numbers of functional noise for hardly listening consumers.
