What was the last thing that you struggled to explain to another person?

That people are different and don’t want the same things - to my father, who has serious issues putting himself in anyone else’s shoes.

My nan, who is in her mid-80s, read in a newspaper about the man who wants permission to search a landfill site for his lost hard drive with hundreds of millions of pounds worth of bitcoin on it. She asked me if I could explain what bitcoin is because she didn't understand it. I'm like a technology expert to her because I help her when she has trouble with her TV, but I barely understand bitcoin myself, and even if I did, I don't think I could explain it in a way that she would understand it

I was [and still am] looking for a place to live in the town that I'm [hopefully] going to live for the next couple of years. I was talking with one of my potential roommates-to-be about why I cannot wire transfer money to the US and also why I cannot notarize a guarantor form for the house that I was applying for. My country is very weird in many aspects. Explaining these strange situations/conditions that I'm trapped in is sometimes difficult.

That pension funds are not a big treasure trove with gold coins inside. An astonishing numer of people think like that it seems.

When I "came out" as trans to my parents, and then a couple of months later when I had to explain to them the changes I'm gonna go through on T

That you don't need feeding 40 minutes after your last meal. Person being a cat called Monica and cats quite clearly count as a person!
