When you answer the door for trick-or-treaters, do you comment on their costumes? Or do you just throw the treat at them and gtfo? Describe your process.

I only had two knocks on the door this year, the first didn't hang around long enough after knocking and I wasn't chasing after them in bare feet. The second knocking saw a pair of kids say trick or treat. I checked how many of them were at the door and picked up two bags of treats and deposited them in their treat buckets, to which they said thank you. Their adult supervisors also said thank you, though they did not get treats.

There were lots of Halloween themed houses around here but I didn't see any trick-or-treaters.

P.S. This reminds me of an episode of The Big Bang Theory: [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zap4qbSXNxY ]

If they are little I'd definetly do 'woooaahhhh you're spiderman! thank you for saving us - have some candy' theatrics... if they are teenagers - I'll lob a candy at them and move them along.

Yeah, for little kids I like to pick one out of the group and give them a quick line - 'uh oh Batman is here for candy, you gonna catch the Joker tonight?' that kind of thing , for older kids yeah I just give up the goods
