When you answer the door for trick-or-treaters, do you comment on their costumes? Or do you just throw the treat at them and gtfo? Describe your process.
I only had two knocks on the door this year, the first didn't hang around long enough after knocking and I wasn't chasing after them in bare feet. The second knocking saw a pair of kids say trick or treat. I checked how many of them were at the door and picked up two bags of treats and deposited them in their treat buckets, to which they said thank you. Their adult supervisors also said thank you, though they did not get treats.
There were lots of Halloween themed houses around here but I didn't see any trick-or-treaters.
P.S. This reminds me of an episode of The Big Bang Theory: [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zap4qbSXNxY ]
I ask them a few questions and how dangerous they are when they do not get a sweet treat. That usually makes them a bit frightened and insecure. I comment on sloppy costumes and point out they must care better for coming across more convincingly. I also ask them if they will share what I give them or if it will be a fight or the sole possession of the one holding the bag - they usually get a bit irritated by this- some try to bribe me or act like little terrorists with threats. I do send those home to see their dad. When I like the critters I give each of them a little treat and mention that I am a witch and they must share their sweets.
