What kind of character do/would you most likely play in a tabletop setting? How about video games, whether alone or online? If they differ, any particular reason why?
i don't usually play tabletop games so i can't tell. but i like purple. especially #a680bb. if a videogame allows me to pick accent/clothing color on my character then i'll make sure she has a lot of #a680bb on her.
when i still played pso2 my character was short with lots of black/purple elements. if a game has a character editor then that's what i'll go for.
if you mean stats/class then i always pick whatever gives me the most attack, i won't get hit so i don't need defense
Well its depends on whats on the tabletop, if its a computer it depends on if its a laptop or a desktop, in which ill pirate minecraft on either one. Id play minecraft either alone and online, or life simulators to establish a sense of purpose in my life and see what its like to feel artificial lo- Oh wait im getting off topic now am i? No spoilers!
If your talking about a regular board game ill be the most chaotic son of a bitch ever, sabatoging others i have helped even in the previous turn, making my childish and fickle attitude the center of attention and either the life of the party or the party foul, or both. in which case i will suggest a paradox, is there more doors or wheels? Cars have doors, but also about 4 wheels, wheels are on certian doors, planes have doors, but also wheels, what are planes responsible for however, what are they classified as?
However, SEPTEMBER 11th 2001-
I tend to like to play druids/rangers/healers/magic users in that order-ish if we're talking "traditional" fantasy setting. I haven't played much ttrpg sci-fi but I guess like a science or medical officer is my preferred job there.
as far as like lore goes, I like playing characters that are shy/introverted, kind of skittish/lone-wolf types, perfectly happy being solitary but will become swayed by the party's cause and join them. usually like an orphan or kid growing up alone in the woods/on the edge of society...that sort of thing >w<
in tabletop fantasy settings i have entirely played magic users, and im sure if i played a cyberpunk setting i would play a hacker of some sort.
in video games, mostly the same, though i sometimes dip into non-magic-using but glass-cannony types of characters.
i guess i like the vibe of being a glass cannon -- it's fun to annihilate people without taking much damage
Well in video games I usually gravitate towards something that does a lot of damage very quickly, even if it means being a glass cannon, so I would probably choose something similar in a tabletop setting. But I haven't played any sort of tabletop game with classes before. I have played the Space Hulk board game, though, and prefer the Space Marines :3
I have very little culture when it comes to fantasy, so I usually do not understand most tropes, races, etc. and have no idea what I could possibly want to play there, or how I would be able to roleplay without knowing anything lol.
I don't remember when I last played a video game RPG, and most of the games I play have very little emphasis on the characters or do not even have a concept of character customization at all, so i'm just usually picking anything that I'm kinda in the mood for in the moment and then I completely forget about it. I do know however that if I were to play FFXIV, I would play an au ra or a miqo'te, I mean why wouldn't I play the cute kemonomimi‽
I tend to enjoy chaotic good or lawful/true/chaotic neutral characters, though I don't play tabletop much. My ideal character would have a tinge of non-human element at least.
In games they differ if MMO or something else, but generally revolve around non-humanness. In offline games like Skyrim and Mass Effect I tend to play male characters that are kinda on the beefier side and make them look scary. My Skyrim character was a huge buff dark khajit for example. In Mass Effect you can't not be a human so I always wore a helmet to be a bit robotic and scary looking. My friends noted I tend to play monstrous or less-human characters when I played LoL, like Cho'Gath, Thresh, Rengar. In MMOs I tend to play the less human ones as well, unless it gives me the option of playing a kemonomimi or dragon girl or something because I like looking at the cute ones like that :3. For example in FFXIV I have a cute punky au ra and when I played TERA I played a castanic slayer. Meanwhile in Guild Wars 2 my main is a mousy looking tiny Asura, and I was in the process of building a giant scary looking Charr for one game mode.
