In the US, in my experience, it's primarily Christians, Mormons (Latter Day Saints), and Jehovah's Witnesses who are known for being pushy about their religion. In your locale is that also the case or do other groups fill that role?

Four times already, I've been approached by people wanting me to join their Bible study crew. And just yesterday, out of the blue, I got a text from this dude who crashed my lunch last year on campus [during my first days in the US]! My face must scream "convert me," because these invites just keep coming!

One time I was walking from uni to home and it was around 9 p.m. It was a bit dark. I saw three dudes coming towards me and I thought to myself: "OK! This is gonna be my first time being mugged in America." However, to my surprise, they asked me if I was interested in joining their Bible study group!

Just the Jehova's, and not even Covid stopped them, they just started posting their leaflets! I just follow the advice of the late comedian Bobby Thompson "Let them knock, the varnish on the door will last longer than the skin on their fingers!"

You get the occasional Jehovah's Witnesses going door to door, and a few times I've seen Mormon missionaries talking to people on the streets close to where they have a church, but that's about it. Nobody else seems pushy about their religion, but I do live in one of the least religious parts of the UK.

Yes. Same. A lady once “baptized” in the parking lot outside of a Subway. She insisted that I needed to be baptized because as an infant, I hadn’t been given the choice. I humored her because I thought it would make for a funny story so I told her to go right ahead if it would make her fulfill her quota for the day.

I would say the same in my experience with the most actively outreaching being jehovah’s witness as they are the only ones here that go door to door and also during the summer they stand in groups at street corners and try to stop people who are just walking through

Muslims where I am from. There's a couple areas where I can't walk through without having stone stones thrown at me because am not Muslim.

Never had a problem with anyone else.

My college campus is absolutely full of Christians, including Mormons and JWs, but also Catholics, and Protestant apologists, and homophobic wackjobs, all trying to get students to talk to them about Jesus.

I've found that to be the case too. I've mentioned on here that I'm a Buddhist, and while we do love to have people start practicing as well, I don't think we're as pushy as many of the Christian sects, or use the fear-based tactics.

Jehova's Witnesses are notorious here too. Plus a couple of Evangelical sects with brain washing ideology trying to catch young people. Mainly siblings from their US parental sects.
