Canned fruit

When we were kids, my brother and I used to come home from school and eat beefaroni out of a can and pretend we lived on a wrecked plane on an island. I knew how to use the microwave, we just thought it was fun to eat out of the can like feral children. We couldn't finish a can by ourselves, so I used to combine both of our leftovers and put them in the fridge and dad ate them when he got home. I don't think he ever figured out we were opening two cans just so we could both eat out of a can.

Anchovies, sardines, tuna, green beans, chilis, etc

Cocoa-milk, Heinz tomato beans, Italian canned tomatoes, pineapple, chickpeas ....

Give me a tin of chicken broth and a piece of crusty bread and I’m delighted.

I will eat the hell out of some canned fruit. I always have some - fruit cocktail, peaches, pineapples, pears, whatever. Always packed in the juice though, never the heavy syrup
